Infusing Climate Change into Instruction
Climate Change is one of our NJ-mandated curricular connections. You'll find climate change standards in every single standard area- art, music, Spanish, and gym, too! Here are some ideas to help you incorporate climate change into the standards you're already teaching.
Art: Students can critique elements and stylistic choices while observing historical works of art from ancient times- the 1970's: (Freedom to Breathe, Woodsy the Owl, and other posters.)
Espanol: Students can identify what goes into each recycling cannister, or practice listening skills with a song about recycling.
K-3: Students can understand how land changes over time. Google Earth Timelapse allows you to see how the Earth has changed over the past 37 years.
4-8: Students can understand how humans impact the environment. Google Earth Timelapse allows you to see how the Earth has changed over the past 37 years.
Physical Education: This will shock them- tennis balls are an environmental hazard. (This made my head spin!)
